Packaging description: RSC Cases (regular slotted case) , tape sealed
System description:
PART ARPACK
ARPAC developed an integrated solution for this end line packaging system.
Product is received single lane, diameter-to-diameter, into an automatic cartoning machine. Cartons are pushed into the required case pack configuration by a pneumatic row pusher. Product is collated, packed into a case, and manually palletized.
Labellers:
Jars (bottles) arrive filled, sealed, and are already labelled
One Jars are placed inside a carton, the flaps are sealed with glue and a printed label with date/lot code is applied.
Once cartons are placed in case, the flaps are sealed with tape and a printed label with date/lot code is applied.
Features:
- (3) Print and Apply Bar Code Carton Labeler, (up to) standard size 4x6” label, device-configured text entry and incremented lot # / date code
- (3) Print and Apply Bar Code Case Labeler, (up to) standard size 4x6” label, device-configured text entry and incremented lot # / date code
Compact 4 Cartoner:
The Compact 4 is designed to automatically erect vertical end load cartons and present them to a load station where the product is inserted automatically. The glue style carton flaps are then folded, closed, and sealed by a hot melt glue system.
Flat carton blanks are manually loaded by operator into a feed magazine at the loading station. A rotary star wheel loader singulates Jars into the Compact 4 which indexes them around the series of rotary stations to complete the packaging process.
Features:
- 20” long carton magazine with 16.5” capacity
- Air actuated carton picker, with venturi vacuum generator
- Castors for portability and labelling feet
- Intermittent motion via indexing gearbox, with drive overload protection
- Servo powered product feet wheels
- Servo powered bottle insertion station
- Air actuated minor flap opening wedge plows

Arpacker Robotic Case Packer:
The Arpacker Robotic Case Packer is a flexible packaging system in a compact footprint for top loaded RSC (Regular Slotted Case) Cases.
A CF-2500 Case Erector automatically erects and taped the bottom of an RSC case. A shuttle locates the case in a consistent pack position. Flaps are not available to be retracted open with tooling, which keeps changeover at a minimum. Thus, corrugate quality must be adequate for automation. RSC (regular Slotted Case) corrugated blanks are extracted from the magazine by sturdy vacuum arm. As the arm transfer the case into position, the back panel is guided forward, which opens and squares each side of the case. The bottom minor flaps are folded up before a bottom flap folding mechanism folds the major flaps. The open top case is the transferred to the bottom taper. As it transfers, the bottom flaps complete the folding sequence, and the bottom is securely taped. An erected case is then transferred out of the machine, ready to be packed.
An MH12 Case Packing Robot picks product and placed them into the case. One gripper per case size is required for loading. Product is gently placed at the bottom if the case without dropping; therefore, each gripper must be sized to fit inside of the case walls and flaps. Change over time is minimized with toll-less change and common tooling plates. A 10–15-minute change over time is estimated.
Filled cases are sealed with a LD-2400 Top Sealer. Top flaps are folded a tape is applied.
Features:
- 6-axis 12 kg. MH12 Case Packing Robot
- Maximum speed: up to 15 picks per minute
- Tooling for product position
- Vacuum Gripper with lateral adjustment
- Adjustable Tooling for case and product position. Physical changeover required. Changeover time varies per size change; common parts will be designed where possible.

- Maximum case size: 14W x 16L x 12H inches (up to 16H pending W; H+W/2 <=19)
- Maximum speed: Up to 10 cycles per minute
- Right-Hand opening case blanks required (Left-Hand not available in CF-2000 series)
- Convenient top-loaded blanks, ergonomic load height and space-efficient inline design
- Dual-acting pneumatic opening actuators for reliable operation with built-in verification
- Simple crank handle changeover with indicator scales in all adjustments
- Heavy-duty tape head for accurate and consistent case seals
- Retractable tape head for quick tape changes and easy-thread
- 2” self-adhesive tape dispense head with cutting blade (3” option available)
Features to LD-2400 Case Top Tape Sealer
- Front, back and side flaps automatically folded
- Same change over and tape features as CF-Series Case Erector
- Side mounted compression rollers and parallel drive belts for squared seals
