Description:
Crossflow processes are used to separate substances that are difficult
to filter. In this process, rotating ceramic discs (alternatively:
polymer) generate a turbulent differential velocity. With dynamic
crossflow filtration, a high degree of separation can be realised,
especially with a concentration of the retentate of up to 700 mPas.
Ceramic filter discs are available on the market in a wide range of
pore sizes from 7 nm to 2 μm.

- Separation of biomass - e.g. in the extraction of enzymes, proteins,
proteins, polysaccharides, antibiotics
