Wire processing machine (From a Plant for fire aluminizing steel
wire)
Wire coils with a maximum wire weight of 900 kg can be unwound on the
wire unwinding unit. The exact specifications regarding wire strength
and spool dimensions can be found in the manufacturer´s technical
documentation.
The wire coils are wound onto hard paper cores or one-piece steel
spools in the delivery state. If the wire coils are not wound on
one-piece steel spools, they must first be clamped in separable spools
The process is described in Chapter IV, page Maintenance - Set-up work
The spools are clamped on the unwinding shaft of the winder between 2
conical discs with a threaded nut.
The process is carried out manually The details are described in
Chapter II, B.02 The tensioned wire coils are unwound with a
preselected retraction. A total of 12 wires can be unwound
simultaneously; the unwinding device consists of 12 individual
unwinders. The unwinding operation is discontinuous Start with wire
start, stop with wire end, all 12 spools must always be stopped
simultaneously, it is not possible to stop a single wire while the
remaining wires continue to run.
Risk of the wire burning out during induction heating. The wire end of
the spool is welded to the wire start of the following spool,
description in chapter II, B 01, page The unwinding tension is
controlled via bending dancer rollers. The retraction tension of the
dancer rollers is controlled by air pressure.
The unwinding tension is set depending on the wire thickness, the wire
strength and the winding condition of the wire coils. Furthermore,
possible torsion in the coil winding must be taken into account.
The specific retraction must not exceed 20 N/mm²
With a wire diameter of 2.00 mm, this means a maximum pressure setting
of 4 bar at the pressure reducing valve.
