Pneumatic dimensional measurement device Solex Metrology, PNEUMATIC
VERSION, Pneumatic metrology is a dimensional measurement technique
for parts, presenting two important advantages:, - the great
measurement precision, - measurement speed, This device is used for
dimensional control of parts with holes whose dimensions must comply
with very tight tolerances, parts that cannot be touched due to their
surface condition, or parts with complex geometry., It has thus been
present for many years in industrial sectors such as biomedical
(prostheses), cosmetics (sprays), pharmaceuticals (dosing pumps),
aerospace or automotive (mechanical parts), where it is recognized for
its robustness, reliability and very high measurement precision.,
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION, The principle is based on a pneumatic
flowmeter that operates by direct reading of the drop or rise in
pressure corresponding to the change in flow at the level of an
orifice or a leak., The regulator maintains a strictly constant
pressure. The air passes through the head nozzle and exits through the
control orifice. The cross-section of the head nozzle is constant and
that of the orifice varies with the dimension of the measured parts,
which causes pressure variations between the head nozzle and the
orifice, recorded by the devices pressure gauge.
